Decision & Made Order
Following the end of the public consultation period all the responses received to the public consultation were presented as part of a report to Cabinet. After consideration, it was decided to approve the introduction of the proposals on the basis that no objections have been raised that constitute any material overriding consideration to the underlying principle of proposals. However, a number of minor amendments have been made to the proposals in response to the consultation as detailed below:
- A reduction in the proposed charging hours from 8am – midnight on all days, to 8am – 8pm on all days to better accommodate community groups meeting in the evening period when parking for the majority of commercial demand within the District Centres has been managed
- To develop a permit to allow for short periods of parking in nominated Suburban car parks in close proximity to schools at set times to allow for “Park-and-Stride” to school.
Further information on this decision can be found here.
The order was made on 19 March 2025, and will come into force on 1 April 2025.
