Project Details

The Transforming Cities fund has enabled and installation of a dropped crossing and tactile paving as well as widening the crossing island. Following the improved area, the scheme widened, re-kerbed and resurfaced sections of the shared footway and provide continuous crossings.

There was also a development with cycle access from the cycle lane along the central reservation across the service road exit to the Toucan crossing opposite Ikea. This included the introduction of cyclist detection and signalling as well as improved signage.

Finally, the developments included work on the shared use cycleway/footway to change the signage and markings for the cycle lane to improve access and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
