Work on the new Hut Hill cycling and walking route linking Chandler's Ford with Chilworth has now been completed.
Project Details
Hampshire County Council has constructed a three metre wide, two kilometre long off-road shared use cycleway/footway along Hut Hill. The scheme links Chandler's Ford with Chilworth, providing improved facilities for those travelling between the settlements.
The route is made up of the southern section of Bournemouth Road and Winchester Road, close to Hampshire Corporate Business Park and passes over the M27 motorway to connect with the northern end of The Avenue.
The £1.14m scheme was jointly developed and delivered by Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council and funded in part from the Government’s Transforming Cities Fund.
