Enabled by the Transforming Cities Fund in 2021.
Devonshire Road junction has been transformed into a pocket park to reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic flow around the Ring Road through Cumberland Place. The pocket park enhances the environment for people walking and wheeling, encouraging active travel.
A pocket library has also been installed with green space and benches for local people to enjoy.
The developments are a part of the wider Ring Road scheme which can be viewed here and provides cycling connectivity, EV charging points and smart technology installations reducing travel times especially for buses who use the route.
