Hospital bus stop improvements

Coxford Bus Interchange X

May Update

We are pleased to confirm the completion of the bus stop improvements outside the Princess Anne Hospital.  These improvements include better access for wheelchair users with a gradual ramp to the footway and new handrails. The bus shelter has also had a revamp and has been relocated to a better position. Other features include a new bin, resurfacing the pavement and raising the bus kerb. Please see the images below of the completed works.

As part of support for a new Park and Ride service for hospital staff a number of improvements are being made to the bus stop outside the Princess Anne Hospital (see map). These works required the closure of the bus stop and a section of Coxford Road and Warren Avenue, with most traffic directed to follow the signed diversion route eastbound for 3 weeks. Access for hospital vehicles and residential parking was still possible up to Vine Road.

Eastbound bus services were also diverted, and we asked people to check with their bus service provider for the best alternative stop for you. Pedestrian access along Coxford Road was maintained throughout. Coxford Road became temporarily one-way westbound only between Vine Road and Tremona Road/Springford Road.
